On the occasion World Diabetes Day, which is annually celebrated on 14st November, the Association of endocrinologists and diabetes specialists of Macedonia, organizes action for random measurement of glycemia at individuals without a history of diabetes. The purpose of this action is to increase the awareness in terms of diabetes, its possible complications and its impact on the everyday life.
On 01.11.2016 Silk Road Bank AD Skopje participated in the project Screening of type 2 diabetes at healthy populations organized by the Scientific Association of endocrinologists and diabetes specialists of Macedoniam in cooperation with the PHI Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases (supported by the Ministry of Health). The project included Bank’s employees (without a prior diagnosis of diabetes) aged 25 to 65 years with purpose of determining the blood glucose (blood sugar) with glucometre which provides onsite results within 5-10 seconds.
Simultaneously, the examined employees completed short anonymous questionnaire relating to their eating habits and physical activity. The detailed results of the project will be announced by the Association after the project finalization in the following months.
